China - Philippines are 'tight as strings' in the East Sea

Beijing [China], June 18: After dispatching an amphibious assault ship to the tense area, China announced that its coast guard ship and the Philippine supply ship had collided in the East Sea.
Yesterday (June 17), AFP cited information from the Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) saying that a CCG ship and a Philippine supply ship had just collided in the Spratly Islands area in the East Sea. Manila has not yet responded to CCG's information.
Beijing strengthens its amphibious warships
The above developments have made relations between the two countries even more tense after the two sides continuously accused each other of causing tensions in the East Sea surrounding Chinese ships' efforts to hinder Philippine forces from supplying supplies to the Philippines. This country's soldiers were on a warship stranded in Truong Sa. For many years, the warship mentioned above was intentionally run aground to serve as one of Manila's "outposts" in the East Sea. In addition, recently, Manila also organized a number of delegations of "scientists" to approach features in Truong Sa to conduct surveys and Beijing tried to prevent them.
Regarding tensions between the two sides, on the evening of June 16, the Hoan Cau Times newspaper reported that Beijing had dispatched a Type 075 amphibious assault ship to the Subi beach area in Truong Sa, which belongs to Vietnam's sovereignty but is being controlled by China. illegal occupation. Previously, China announced that one of its Type 071 landing ships had just conducted landing exercises with the participation of air cushion landing ships at Subi beach.
According to Mr. Nagao, the amphibious assault ship is an amphibious ship, and is also the largest warship to meet the goal of control in peacetime. In wartime, military operations require eliminating enemy resistance. However, in peacetime, it is impossible to sink ships of other countries. Therefore, in peacetime, the comprehensive service capacity of amphibious assault ships has many meanings.
China is planning to build and renovate artificial islands. In this case, amphibious capability is a matter of concern. If using amphibious assault ships, China shows more confidence in continuing operations. Through the Type 075 ship, China can land many soldiers or construction workers. That is why the appearance of the Type 075 ship is a matter of concern.
"To cope, surrounding countries may have to strengthen their preventive forces, leading to a larger escalation," Dr. Nagao said.
In addition, he said that since the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan has reduced its image, as well as having to disperse resources to hot spots in Ukraine and the Middle East , America's ability to participate in the region has also decreased. In the absence of a balancer, China has the opportunity to maximize its activities to achieve its regional goals. Therefore, there needs to be coordination between many countries to ensure security and peace in this sea area.
