Kuwait, UNDP sign deal to support solid waste management in Lebanon

Beirut (Lebanon), July 28: The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) signed on Tuesday an agreement to expand support for the solid waste management in Lebanon, the National News Agency reported.
According to the agreement, the KFAED will provide 2.5 million U.S. dollars to support the UNDP in Lebanon in addressing this country's mounting waste management challenges.
"Improving solid waste management is key to strengthening inclusive service delivery and addressing critical environmental and health hazards which further compound the multifaceted crisis facing the country," said Khalida Bouzar, UNDP's assistant secretary-general and director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States.
