Tripoli (Libya), September 24: The Libyan Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah on Thursday met with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (parliament) Fawzi al-Noweri in the capital Tripoli, where they discussed the latest political developments in Libya and the national reconciliation.
"During the meeting, the two officials stressed the importance of efforts to hold successful elections in Libya," said a statement issued by the government's information office.
"The prime minister stressed his government's keenness to hold free and honest elections that reflect the true will of the Libyan people," the statement said.
The Government of National Unity was selected by the UN-sponsored Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) in February, ending years of political division in the country.
The country is expected to hold general elections in December this year as approved by the LPDF.
The parliament a few day ago decided to withdraw confidence from Dbeibah's government over "financial and administrative violations," and keep it as a caretaker government.
