South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said there were about 10 short-range ballistic missiles launched by North Korea in this round, according to AFP.
According to JCS, the missiles were launched from the Sunan area near the capital Pyongyang, traveling about 350 km toward the eastern sea of ​​the Korean peninsula.
The launch was "a provocation that seriously threatens the peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula," the JCS added.
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said the missiles fell into waters outside the country's exclusive economic zone. The Japan Coast Guard is analyzing information to learn more about the launch.
A day earlier, the South Korean military accused North Korea of ​​releasing hundreds of balloons carrying waste and trash into the country's territory. Last weekend, Pyongyang warned that it would punish Seoul by dropping piles of waste paper and garbage in the area along the line.
