Tourist arrivals in Maldives pass 500,000-mark this year

Colombo [Sri Lanka] APRIL 23: Tourist arrivals in the Maldives this year passed the 500,000 mark as of April 20, its Ministry of Tourism said on Friday.
The ministry said that over 531,000 tourists arrived between Jan. 1 and April 20 in the archipelagic country.
Among them, 131,764 visitors were recorded in January, 149,008 in February and 150,739 in March.
Tourist arrivals so far this year are 46.4 percent more than in the same period of 2021.
Official data also showed that the average length of stay of visitors in the Maldives was eight days, with the daily average of arrivals standing at 4,827.
