Washington [US], September 22: CNN reported on September 21 that Vice President Harris , the Democratic presidential candidate, has accepted the network's invitation to debate for the second time with his rival Donald Trump .
Ms Harris wrote on social media that she would be happy to accept a second debate and hoped Mr Trump would participate on October 23.

However, the Republican candidate said it was too late for the two sides to debate a second time because Americans had already started voting for the 2024 election.
"The problem with another debate is it's too late, the voting has already started," Mr. Trump said at a campaign rally in Wilmington, North Carolina on September 21. Voters in three states, Minnesota, South Dakota and Virginia, have begun voting early in person ahead of the official election day on November 5.
Mr. Trump and Ms. Harris had a debate on September 10, moderated by ABC News in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Before that, Mr. Trump also had a debate with President Joe Biden in late June, after which Mr. Biden withdrew from the race and Ms. Harris replaced him.
Mr Trump recently wrote on the social network Truth Social that there would be no third debate but then said he might participate if he was in a "good mood".
Vice presidential candidates J.D. Vance and Tim Walz will debate on Oct. 1, hosted by CBS News. Traditionally, presidential candidates have the last word in the nationally televised October debate, following the vice presidential debate.
