Uzbek police arrest 8 suspected members of terrorist group

Tashkent [Uzbekistan], July 22: Uzbekistan's police have arrested eight suspected members of banned militant Jihadist organization Katiba al-Tawhidwal-Jihad in Tashkent region, local police said on Thursday.
The detainees, aged between 22 and 25, planned to leave for Syria and join the ranks of the militants, a police report said.
"Currently, additional interrogations are being carried out as part of the investigative actions," it said.
