Vietnamese student youth in Barcelona organize a football tournament to celebrate April 30

Hanoi [Vietnam], April 30: The tournament was held right in the historic days of April, which is also an opportunity for the Vietnamese community in general and Vietnamese youth and students in Spain in particular to bond even though they are far away.
On April 27, the opening ceremony of the Vietnamese student youth football tournament in Barcelona took place at the Clot de la Miel Sports Complex - Villa Olímpica Sports Centre.
In order to celebrate the great event of the nation and the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, the Vietnamese Student Youth Association in Spain organized a football tournament, creating a playground for the Vietnamese community in general and young people and students who are studying, living and working in Spain in particular. The tournament gathers 9 participating teams.
The opening ceremony on April 27 was attended by Mr. Pham Tien - Head of the Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Association in Spain, Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong - Head of the Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Association in Catalonia and representatives of sponsors and more than 180 players and spectators attended.
Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thao, Head of the Organizing Committee, said that this is the main activity of the Vietnamese Student Youth Association in Spain and the association always wants to maintain and promote it every year. "This year, on the occasion of an important event of the whole nation, we have made efforts to organize the tournament in the last days of the historic April. Even though they are far away, the Vietnamese community in general and young people in particular will still try to connect and unite in the spirit of mutual love and support for each other," Ms. Thao said.
Player Nguyen Ngoc Thach, who has participated in the football tournament 3 times, shared that this year's tournament is more prepared and organized on a larger scale than in 2023. He said: "The teams also participated more and it was very special that we were able to play right on the pitch. The brothers are very eager to give the audience bloody matches and beautiful goals, and at the same time promote the spirit of fair-play and exchange and learn from each other."
The tournament starts on April 27 and will end in early June.
