COVID-19: GCC Biotech lab prepares ‘real-time’ test kits worth Rs 500 in WB

South 24 Parganas (West Bengal), May 11 (ANI): A biotech laboratory has prepared indigenous ‘real-time’ COVID-19 test kits in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. GCC Biotech India Private Limited has prepared test kits worth Rs 500 for a single test. They are manufacturing all testing kits in their own laboratory in Bakrahat village of South 24 Parganas district. While speaking to ANI, the Managing Director of GCC Biotech India Pvt. Ltd., Raja Majumdar said, “After 2 months of R&D we made this kit. It is cost effective as it contains all reagents produced by us. We have made 1 crore test kits and have 40 lakh in store. If India can do three lakh tests per day, we will be able to support the govt without any problems.” “If we will be asked by the state or central government for providing test kits then we are ready to meet their demands,” he added. This test kits will be fruitful for those, who are economically weak. There are total 1939 confirmed cases of coronavirus in West Bengal. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 44, 029 with 2206 deaths in India.
