Hindus in aid of Muslims amid Ramadan in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 18 (ANI): Wearing masks and maintaining social distance, people in Musheerabad area of Hyderabad stood in long queues, eagerly waiting for their turn to receive the food items being distributed by a Hindu group. Headed by Edla Haribabu Yadav, who is also a local resident, the group was providing a bag of essential commodities to all the people irrespective of their religion. It has been carrying on with this activity since the first day of Ramadan, so the locals especially Muslims do not face any shortage of food items at their homes during this holy month. The people standing in a queue could be seen carrying a pink card. This card is basically a token that has date and time mentioned on it. The group members personally visit every household and provide this token to the locals so that it doesn’t lead to crowding at the time of distribution. Locals are in effusive in their praises of the group for helping them during this time of crises. Adhering to social distancing norms and by providing free food to the needy, the group is battling against both, the hunger woes as well as COVID-19.
