People resume normal routine under heightened security as peace seemingly returns to Sambhal

Sambhal (UP), Nov 26 (ANI): The situation in Sambhal has returned to normal following a clash on November 24, according to DIG Sambhal, Muniraj Ji. Speaking to ANI, he stated that shops in the area have reopened, and people are going about their activities without disruption. He added that the District Magistrate will provide updates to the media regarding the reopening of schools. The police have also identified those involved in the incident.The violence broke out after an ASI team arrived at the spot of a Mughal-era mosque(Shahi Masjid) after Hindu side claimed that that it was erected on the spot a temple.Police had to use tear gas and appeal the stone pelters in a bid to control the situation in the area.The said survey was part of a legal process following a petition filed by senior advocate Vishnu Shanker Jain, who claimed the mosque was originally a temple. Four people have lost their lives in the incident leaving several injured.Meanwhile, security has been heightened near the Shahi Jama Masjid in the area to maintain order and prevent any escalation of violence following the initial incident of ruckus and violence in Sambhal.
